About the Collective
Ministry by Women and for Women in Lincoln, Nebraska
Hello! Welcome to The Collective. The Women’s Ministry Collective is a longtime dream come true. It is a calling from the Lord and an answer of obedience. It’s a step of faith in order to encourage others to follow Jesus.
My name is Rebecca Tredway and I have worked in Christian ministry and education for the majority of the last 30 years. I began working as an assistant office manager in a church office at age 16. I developed a deep love for both God’s people and for practically serving one another. Along the way of paid and unpaid ministry work, I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, married my husband Jeremy, became a mother by adoption, began a Master’s in Theological Studies, and landed, most recently, in a small school teaching middle school. I have been dreaming of a citywide ministry to women for years now, encouraged by a MOPS-type program that gave me friends, godly teaching, and support when I was a young mom.
Over the years I’ve found myself questioning everything from Is God real? to Who am I? to What in the world am I supposed to be doing with my life??! I am deeply familiar with emotional and physical suffering, and I am also deeply familiar with joy. Life contains both. I love the church (local and universal) and want to serve her now in a broad sense. I am at my best when helping women be known and seen and encouraged as they follow Jesus through their lives. With the help of a team of fantastic people I am making spaces where women flourish and become more equipped to serve God wherever He has called them.
The Collective is not a church. It does not represent any denomination but rather is an ecumenical gathering of women in Lincoln, Nebraska. As an organization we believe that female voices, bodies, and stories are meant to glorify God–and it’s our joy to encourage one another and connect each other to the Body of Christ.
